The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma / Advanced Diploma under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). The B.Voc. programme is focused on providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their National Occupational Standards (NOS) along with broad based general education. Our college has started skill based vocational courses from the academic year 2018-19 under the guidelines and financial assistance of University Grant Commission (UGC) New Delhi. These courses are having credit based semester pattern and are affiliated to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University, Aurangabad.
It's a beautifully crafted course that offers technical subjects with business studies and skill practicals. It has been initiated by government to develop skill India, therefore, main objective of this course is to prepare work ready force immediately after graduation. B.Voc is different from other undergraduate courses as- It has multiple exit options. One can exit after one year with diploma, two years with advance diploma and complete three years with respective degree. The weightage of practical studies is more than theoretical. Precisely 40% theory and 60% practical studies. Internship after second and third year, guest lectures and industrial visits. It supports your entrepreneurial skills as well, hence, after graduation you can get supervision by college and government if you want to open an enterprise or business. B.Voc is similar as other undergraduate courses as- You can enrol in B.Voc after the completion of your 12th. It also offers variety of streams like apparel manufacturing, textile designing, food technology, renewal resources, waste and water management, automobile, IT, travel and tourism, dairy technology, agriculture and many more.
